MORE MIRACLES!!!

Hello! Mother and family!

This week was great. [My new companion reminds me of my brothers.] He is the best missionary ever. He has such a great work ethic and just yearns for obedience and bringing people to Christ. I love him a lot.

This past week we saw more miracles than I think I can count on both of my hands. We were able to see all of our investigators this week (except the family) and we also met two new investigators on Sunday.

We met our Gwang Ju investigator on the street on Friday right before he was returning to Gwang Ju and set up an appointment for today. He is great, so hopefully we will be able to work with him and help him to make it to baptism. He understands sooo well!

We met the political investigator a couple of times this week and my companion made the observation that "he really needs the Gospel" which is true. Hopefully he will experiment on the word so that he can come to Christ and change his life around.

We also met with our 28 year old investigator and talked to him about the Book Of Mormon and read a little bit with him. He took his first test on Saturday, and we will continue to meet with him and help him to progress towards baptism.

We met two new investigators this Sunday. The first one came to church at the end of church (the ward had a ward dinner after church) which was a great opportunity to teach with a member. The person who came was a kid and so we had the wonderful opportunity to teach a lesson with Eric! It was so great; he helped the kid feel so welcome!

The second person that we met had only looked us up on the internet and then decided that he would meet with us. We taught him the first lesson and then talked about the church and answered his questions. He understood everything well and seemed to enjoy the lesson and said that he would come to church. So, we are excited for him to continue to progress towards Christ and to start the journey to eternal life!

This past week I learned a lot about a lot of things. The Sons of Helaman were right on in their firm and undaunted faith in God. Really, the pattern of the Sons of Helaman applies to all commandments including the Word of Wisdom, Chastity, tithing, etc. Through trusting in God beyond our own ability, although 1000 people on the sides of the Sons of Helaman perished, not a single one of them did. As General Conference clearly stated, we need to have this strong foundation if we are to survive the wars and battles leading to up to the Second Coming of the Savior.

I also learned that the epitome of all acquired attributes and skills, etc., is to submit our will to the Lord and to have the capacity to do it. The purpose of Christ's Christ like attributes was to enable Him, in the Garden of Gethsemane, to first submit His will to the Lord, and then to allow Him to accomplish the Atonement. So, if we have great skills, attributes, and other abilities and do not submit to the will of the Lord, then we are losing the potential of all our hard work. It is a very hard task to honestly purify every motivation for the glory and furtherance of the Lord's kingdom, but through working on Christlike attributes and spiritual gifts, etc., we form the very capacity to do so. One desire at a time, we become more like the Savior and will be able to say in our lives, looking back, as He did "Nevertheless glory be to the Father and I partook (if necessary) and finished my preparations unto the children of men."

I love this work with all my heart. I love the Lord. He is the perfect model for us. I love the Book of Mormon. It truly answers the questions of the soul. I know that is true. I know that God loves His children wherever they are and that through Jesus Christ we can become the best that we can be. I am thankful everyday for the experiencest that I have and the people I meet! I love you so much!!
